Agreement
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of thecoaster.in and any purchase you make from it. The site and shop are owned and operated by Kalpatit, based in Mumbai, India (“we”, “us”, “our”). By browsing the site or placing an order, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree with them, please don’t use the site.
The product
Each coaster is a cast cement object, made in small batches. It is a functional coaster for a single cup, not a certified food-contact, heat-proof or structural item. Because it’s cast by hand, natural pores, tone shifts and slight surface variation are expected and are part of the character — no two settle exactly alike. Product images are as accurate as we can make them, but colour can vary slightly between screens.
Pricing & payment
All prices are listed in Indian Rupees (INR) and, unless stated otherwise, are inclusive of applicable taxes. Shipping is calculated separately at checkout. We may update prices at any time, but changes won’t affect orders we’ve already confirmed. Payments are handled by our third-party payment gateway; we never see or store your full card or bank details.
Orders & acceptance
Placing an order is an offer to buy. A confirmation email acknowledges we’ve received it, but the contract is formed only when we dispatch the order. We may decline or cancel an order — for example if an item is out of stock, a price was listed in error, or payment can’t be verified — and in that case we’ll refund any amount already charged.
Shipping, returns & refunds
Delivery is covered by our Shipping Policy, and returns, replacements and refunds by our Return & Refund Policy. Both form part of these terms. In short: we ship across India, and we replace or refund items that arrive damaged or defective when reported within 7 days.
Care & use
A coaster protects a surface from a cup; that’s its job. It is not a trivet, a chopping board or a plaything, and cement can chip or crack if dropped. Use it sensibly, keep it away from young children as you would any heavy object, and it will outlast most of your furniture.
Intellectual property
The site’s design, text, imagery, the coaster’s form and the Kalpatit and coaster names are our property and are protected by law. You may not copy, reproduce or reuse them for commercial purposes without our written permission.
Acceptable use
Please use the site lawfully and don’t attempt to disrupt it, misuse it, scrape it at scale, or place fraudulent orders. We may suspend access where we reasonably believe the site is being misused.
Disclaimers & liability
The site and product are provided on a reasonable-effort basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under applicable Indian consumer law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Mumbai, India.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published here, with the “last updated” date above, is the one that applies. Significant changes take effect when posted, so it’s worth a glance before you order.
